The core checklist
- Business bank statements: the last 3 full months, from every business account that receives deposits
- Month-to-date activity: especially if you are past the 15th of the month
- Photo ID for each owner
- Voided business check or bank letter for the funding account
- Debt schedule: every advance, loan or lease with balance, payment, frequency and funder
- Payoff letters for any balance you want paid off at funding
- A short application: business details, owners, amount needed and use
Helpful extras
- POS or processor statements (Toast or any other) showing card volume
- Delivery-app payout reports (DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub) if they deposit to a different account
- Your Toast Capital agreement, if you have an open Toast loan
- Lease and equipment quotes if the money is for a buildout or equipment
Never send these
- Your Toast, POS, bank or email password. A legitimate funder never needs it.
- Full card numbers or your customers' data
- Documents by text message or social-media DM. Use the secure upload in the application.
Why statements matter more than the dashboard
Toast Capital decides mostly from data inside Toast. Outside funders decide mostly from your bank statements: deposits from every channel, average balance, negative days and existing debits. Clean, complete statements are the single biggest factor in a fast decision. With a complete file, ToastFunding can fund approved restaurants in as little as 4 hours.

Questions owners ask
How many bank statements do I need for restaurant funding?
Start with the last 3 full months plus month-to-date. Larger amounts or longer terms can need more, and you will be told up front.
Do I need tax returns?
Not usually for working capital in ToastFunding's range. Larger facilities or term loans may ask for them.
Should I share my Toast login so you can see sales?
No. Never share your POS or bank passwords. Download statements or reports and upload them through the secure application.
