Made-up numbers. Card sales show up in the bank after processing fees and any holdback, so use deposits, not gross POS reports, when you check your own numbers.
How to make it count
- Deposit cash regularly into the business account. Cash that never reaches the bank cannot be counted.
- Send delivery payouts to the same business account, or include statements for every account that receives them.
- Label owner transfers so they are not mistaken for sales.
- Have 3 months of statements plus month-to-date for every account.

Questions owners ask
Does Toast Capital look at my cash sales?
Toast says eligible loan size is based in part on actual and projected card payments processed through your Toast POS, along with other information about your business. Outside funders typically use total bank deposits.
Do delivery-app payouts count as revenue?
Usually yes, when they are deposited into a business account you include. Refunds and adjustments may be netted out.
Will an owner transfer increase my funding amount?
No. Funders remove transfers between your own accounts and owner injections, because they are not sales.
